Current Projects
- PASSIVE HAPTIC STENOGRAPHY : Using a vibration glove to teach stenography passively! Research work under Dr. Thad Starner.
- HEALTH INFORMATION EXCHANGE VIA DIRECT : A patient application to display health information retrieved from Microsoft HealthVault was designed. The basic platform used was Direct, to send an email to the physician and research purposes, attaching the Continuity of Care Document of the patient (de-identified for research).
Previous Projects
- PARALLELIZING BASIS EXTRACTION USING IMAGE COMPRESSION BY 2D MOTIF BASIS- The aim of the project was to use parallel programming languages and platforms such as CUDA and Cilk++ to reduce the amount of time taken to extract the basis of an image.
- IMPLEMENTATION OF LISTMINER- A faster algorithm(by a factor of T, the total number of timesteps) to mine periodic subgraphs in a large set of timesteps(such as the Enron database) was implemented in C.
- “WHACK-A-CHIMP”: A TACTILE GAME FOR THE VISUALLY IMPAIRED- A game for the visually impaired was designed, with sound, visual and tactile feedback in the form of vibrations from a glove. The game was received with many positive reviews.
- EMOTION RECOGNITION - Worked on a project to detect facial expressions in a real-time stream of images and accurately catalogue it as the emotion being displayed, using parallel resources. The project was completed on MATLAB platform. It was completed in May, 2012.
- PARALLEL COMPUTATION OF EIGENFACES – Eigenfaces are a set of eigenvectors used in computer vision for face recognition. The purpose of the project was to improve the efficiency of the computation using parallel programming techniques.
- PERSISTENT FILE SYSTEM - Created a persistent file system to maintain college records as part of an internship done at Maventic Innovative Solutions Pvt Ltd (June and July, 2009).
- UIDAI STORAGE SYSTEM – Unique Identification Authority of India (more details found here: http://uidai.gov.in/) mandates assigning a unique number to every resident of India in order to streamline delivery of government social welfare services. The storage system and architecture (Hadoop) was studied as part of a course called Information Storage and Management.
- ‘ADOPT A PUPPY’ WEBSITE – As a project for Information Systems, we had to create and update a website of our choice. The platform used was Drupal and the website was maintained offline.
